Friend or Foe?

"Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody returns home eight years, after going missing in Iraq. Carrie Mathison, a driven CIA officer, suspects he might be plotting an attack on America"

If you don't know what Im on about, you've obviously never seen Homeland, the new award winning American TV show, brought to our screens by Showtime (the creators of Dexter)

My latest poster is based on the storylines on-going dilemma. Nicholas Brody is definitely a guy with a split conscience. On the one side we have Sgt.Brody, the new poster boy for Washington, the perfect American wife and kids who is being primed to run office by some of the most powerful people in the country. Yet on the other side we have that very same guy, distraught by the things he saw whilst in Iraq and ready to take revenge for the things that he saw whilst in captivity.

Is he a friend or foe? We just don't know!

Note: This is the first poster Ive done that is based on a TV show rather than a movie, so I have no plans to get it printed, but if you are interested feel free to leave a comment below and if there is enough interest I may order a small run if prints.

Vote for me over at the Double Negative Tee Competition

Im currently one of 10 finalists in the Double Negative 'Design a T Shirt' contest over at http://www.thedoublenegative.co.uk/ and I need YOUR help!

My design visualised
The site is a local arts/design/film/music site based in my hometown city of Liverpool and they are currently accepting votes on 10 final designs. The winner will see their design printed and sold via the Double Negative store. The only brief for the contest was that each design must include the websites name somewhere on the tee.

My design is made up of numerous quotes about the city itself from influential people such as Carl Jung and Paul McCartney. It also includes some illustrated Liverpool landmarks. The aim of the design is to convey the feeling of pride that comes with being a Liverpudlian!

If you have a spare 2 mins I would really appreciate your votes! The competition closes on Feb 27th. You can vote HERE.

Thanks for reading!
Dave

EDIT: Voting has now closed, Ill let you know the results shortly!

DaveWill on Pinterest

Ive recently discovered Pinterest, a great resource for cataloging ideas, inspiration and other cool images from around the net. It is currently ranked 7th in the world for social network sites (thats above Google+ in case you care!)

You can see my Pinterest board here which is made up of great modern day movie posters from a wide range of artists that Ive collated from across the web. At the moment Pinterest accounts are available by invitation only, but I have a spare few invites available so if anyone is interested just let me know!

Bafta Poster for Heyuguys.co.uk

The great guys who run the brilliant movie website heyuguys.co.uk got in touch with me a few weeks back and asked for a favour. They were getting ready for the 2012 BAFTA's and wanted a poster to promote the event as well as highlight the great coverage they would have on offer. They have been such a great help to me and my poster work over the past year so I was more than happy to help out.

Time was short so I didnt have the ability to create something brand new, but I took inspiration from classic boxing/wrestling posters (to me the movie awards always seem like a big fight anyway, just much more civilized than WWE!)

It has been a great year for movies so it was a tough task trying to fit in the starts of Drive, The Artist, The Help, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and so many other great movies but below is the result!

I also threw together a little web graphic for them to use as an image on their 'top stories' carousel

New for 2012: Forrest Gump Limited Edition Print

(Clicking to enlarge is highly recommended!)

A poster always looks its best with a
classic black frame and white mount combo!

So 2011 was crazy for me and ended on a huge high as got married, went on honeymoon, moved house and celebrated Christmas all in the same month! Apparently its 2012 already and I've realised it's been a while since my last poster release but I am glad to reveal my latest design... based on the classic movie... Forrest Gump!!!

Released in 1994, Forrest Gump is an iconic piece of storytelling that is just as good today as it was 18 years ago.
After watching it recently it dawned on my how varied Forrest's life was. He had more jobs than I've had hot dinners and I knew there was a poster in there somewhere, the problem was figuring out an idea to bring it all together.

Eventually it seemed obvious... Forrest was an exceptional guy with a fine array of talents and the best thing is, they all begin with the letter 'F'! Who could forget Forrest the football player who couldn't stop running or the famous moment that Forrest flashes his buttocks at the white house. So here it is for all to see, 'The Finest Features of Forrest Gump' available as a 24 x18" limited edition print run of 50, all signed and numbered. As always, once this batch has gone, thats it, there will
